Overview
Good sleep is a crucial component of a healthy lifestyle, yet many people, especially young adults, struggle with falling asleep and waking up. Traditional alarm clocks, with their harsh, nagging sounds, only add to the problem. The Sleep Assistant offers a more appealing solution by incorporating aromatherapy and ambient modulation, techniques often used in psychotherapy, to create a soothing environment and enhance the overall sleep experience.

To design an alarm clock that gives an optimum, personalised sleep and wake up experience.
Designed Intervention
Form Exploration
For this project, I aimed to make form a defining element. While examining the various technical details necessary for the product, I also explored a range of shapes and designs. I drew inspiration not only from existing alarm and wake-up clocks but also from holistic concepts such as yin, the life forms of flowers, sailing, and samadhi (the unification of consciousness). This exploration allowed me to consider both form and functionality.
Taking into account the space required for the steam chambers, I ultimately selected a rounded cuboidal form for the product. This shape not only provided the necessary functionality but also contributed to an aesthetic that reflects harmony and balance.
Product Description
Aromate is an innovative clock designed to enhance your sleep experience by linking to a mobile app that utilizes your sleep data.
Two Modes:
Sense-i Mode: This mode employs advanced sleep tracking technology to ensure you wake up at the optimal time, specifically at the end of your REM cycle, helping you feel more refreshed and alert.
Regular Mode: In this mode, you can easily set your own alarm using the intuitive touch display or through the mobile app, providing flexibility for your waking needs.
With these features, Aromate aims to revolutionize the way you approach sleep and wakefulness.
Product Features
Aromate is equipped with an ultrasonic aroma diffuser featuring two chambers dedicated to sleep and wake-up scents, enhancing your ability to fall asleep or wake up with ease. Users can easily change the water and essential oils according to their preferences.
The ambient lighting mode transforms Aromate into a soothing bedside lamp, gradually dimming as you fall asleep once the diffuser times out.
